Agenda:
- We continue our en plein air studies on the home turf: Great Falls Park in Potomac. It's a little gem we keep coming back to. In a small area, we have several waterfalls, magical rocky islands, and a historic tavern. It's beautiful in any season but especially in the fall.
- Just to make it even more challenging, this time we would like to work more on location and use at least 16X20 canvases. We will use bigger brushes and palette knives to achieve the real essence of en plein air painting: it's expressive and free style.
- For the first two Monday afternoons we rented lockhouses as a home base, just to spend more time on location (See Schedule).
Lockhouse 6, 6100 Clara Barton Parkway
Bethesda, MD 20816
Lockhouse 10, 8250 Clara Barton Parkway
Cabin John, MD 20818
- In the slideshow above, you will find inspirational images of the area we took over the years and paintings by other artists. We would encourage you to go there ahead of time and look for your subject.
- We will meet for six hours every Monday in the course of six weeks. You will continue working at home or on site during the week. As usual, we will exhibit all paintings created during the workshop at our gallery in Georgetown.
- We are very excited about this new project and look forward to working with you!
